July 29, 200817 yr This is not really a problem, but more of hopeful outcome. I have portals setup in a list to display information about several different product series. Right now each portal displays the same amount of rows regardless if there is one record per product series or 100. What I was hoping that FileMaker can do (and I'm not holding my breath) is to dynamically adjust the number of rows in the portal to the amount of records per product series (1 row for 1 record, 10 rows for 10 records)
July 29, 200817 yr Author So are you suggesting that I make each portal have a large number of rows and then they will shrink for printing?
July 29, 200817 yr Yes, portals can reduce the number of rows when you print. Removing blank spaces in printouts "If you specify that a portal slides up and the enclosing part shrink, FileMaker Pro omits empty portal rows."
July 29, 200817 yr If this is about printing, then you might do much better by printing directly from the child table.
July 30, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the tip on the portals it did work. I'm thinking I'll stick with that solution for the time being
