Gary1478
I just upgraded my PC. Have the latest Intel Chip and with a GeForce8800 Video Card. Everything works great except FileMaker. It takes about 1 to 1.5 seconds to paint the screen every time I switch to my FM database. Can't be the monitors as they worked fine on my other older machine. Has anyone come across this? I'm running Window XP. Thanks. Gary
bcooney
There have been some posts that suggest that you may experience these problems if you have an optical MS mouse. Try reinstalling the drivers. You should also confirm that you have the latest drivers for your video card.
Gary1478
Interesting. I do have an optical mouse. How would that affect filemaker?
bcooney
I don't know. Just saw a post on another forum where reinstalling the drivers solved the redraw problem. Worth a try? btw, I am on WinXP SP2 with FM9.0v3, with a MS optical mouse--no problems.
Gary1478
updated the driver. No luck. Maybe just not compatible with video card. Will try another one.
bcooney
OK. How about the acceleration settings on the video card?
bruceR
OK. How about the acceleration settings on the video card? OK; but what exactly should the OP being looking for? Oddly enough it appears that the general recommendation for improved FileMaker performance is to turn OFF hardware graphics acceleration.
