JeffreyE Posted February 28, 2001 Posted February 28, 2001 Hey, All-- I'm sorting a portal row by the Creation date descending. The relationship is set to allow creation of related records. This brings the latest dates up first, however, the blank record is still at the bottom, and is frequently hidden below the scroll. Is there any way to have the blank record appear first, st the top of the portal? Thanks Jeffrey Ellis
danjacoby Posted February 28, 2001 Posted February 28, 2001 The thing is, it's not really a "blank record". The portal is simply prepared for you to add a new record. And it always appears at the bottom. Perhaps, if Filemaker receives enough requests, the next upgrade will be more flexible. Sorry.
LiveOak Posted March 1, 2001 Posted March 1, 2001 The way around this is to have the user enter data for a new record into global fields and then click a submit/create/enter button that runs a script which does the actual record creation in the related file. The global fields can be placed anywhere you like, even be made to look like the first row in the portal. -bd
