Beatrice Beaubien
Which restaurants in SF do people recommend? Most of the evenings we will be offsite I am guessing, so I'd appreciate recommendations. Close to the Hilton would be best. Thanks!
Rich R
San Francisco is great for restaurants... There are so many available... What kind of food are you interested in?
Beatrice Beaubien
Hi RIch, My tastes are fairly eclectic. Proximity to the Hilton on O'Farrell would be good, though. (;)
David Wikström
I was staying in the same neighborhood in December, and in general, you don't have to worry - food is so great in SF; nothing like the gastronomic desert of Arizona last year. Three excellent ones a couple of blocks or less from the Hilton: http://www.kuletos.com/ (Italian) http://www.borobudursf.com/ (Indonesian) The best value is no doubt the delicious Pakistani buffet: Naan N Curry, 336 O'Farrell St, San Francisco, CA - (415) 346-1443 There's an Indian buffet with slightly different cuisine next door, really good as well and more impressive decor. There's a great Thai restaurant a bit further down Market, but I can't recall the name right now... My favorite Thai in SF is Basil (http://www.basilthai.com/), but that's not Downtown. http://www.burmasuperstar.com/ is also not to be missed, though further away. There are some great pizzerias (compared to what we get in Vancouver, BC) in North Beach, nice atmosphère. My mouth's watering already - I better stop! I hope they have longer lunch breaks this year!
