November 20, 200817 yr Well, I thought I had the answer. It works on the Mac platform, but not on the Windows side. I use 'save pdf' for records browsed to create a file to use as an email attachment. Then I transfer to a screen with a container field for the user to preview. I 'go to field' the container field and 'insert picture'. I get the error message 'this file type could not be displayed as a picture. It will be inserted and displayed as a file'. The file type is 'pdf file' with an adobe acrobat icon associated with it when viewed in the directory. Any thoughts why the same sequence of script steps works in MAC OSX but not VISTA? TIA
November 20, 200817 yr Because the PDF format is for a file not a picture? I believe it may have something to do with OLE objects.
November 20, 200817 yr Author I'm not familiar with 'ole' objects. Is that a Windows/Vista issue? It works fine on the Mac
November 20, 200817 yr PDF is a native format in OS X. Some image formats are supported on one platform only - see the help for more details.
November 21, 200817 yr Author 'Insert picture' works for pdf's on the Mac. 'Insert object' appears to work for pdf's on Windows. Thanks.
