Hi all new to Filemaker and before i buy any software am after a bit of advice.

Im looking to design a database which is accessed through a website. There will be 3 different levels of access Customer, Contractor and Administrator. The process is pretty simple to follow see below:-

Customer logs fault on website

Administrator Allocates fault to Contractor

Fault is sent to Contractors PDA where they receive a job sheet

Contractor Accepts Job and sets estimated Arrival Date / Time

Contractor arrives at property completes job

Contractor gets tenant to sign job as complete on PDA and sends data back to website

Website is updated as job complete

Contractor sends in Invoice

Administrator Inputs contractor invoice on to website

Administrator Sends Invoice to Customer

Administrator Pays Contractor

Administrator inputs payment from Customer

Job set as complete

Customer questionnaire sent out

Is it possible to do this with filemaker?

Welcome Craig,

YES it is possible with FileMaker, unless someone has a solution prebuilt or something close to your needs that could be customized. It sounds like it would need full scale development project, perhaps leveraging some solutions CRM modules to speed up development.

However, if you full intent is "web-only" then you may consider a web solution (PHP/MySQL) (NOT FileMaker)

One solution http://www.worktrack.com/Service/default.aspx
