FMFuser Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 I need to change the name of several layouts (ie; from "name" to "name-temp," then after changes to the layouts back to "name"). Is there an easier way than renaming each one individually? Thanks in advance.
Vaughan Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Renaming multiple layouts s easier from the Set Layout Order dialog: double-click the name to change it.
bcooney Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Perhaps if we knew why you feel this is necessary, then we could suggest a better method. There is no way to script a layout name change.
LaRetta Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 As said, you can't script changing the layout name. But you can easily script changing a window name and then select windows accordingly. Might that help?
FMFuser Posted February 27, 2009 Author Posted February 27, 2009 To those asking why: I have about 12 layouts on which I want to make a few experimental changes and I want to be able to revert all the layouts back to the way they were in case my changes don't make me happy. Thanks for the replies.
bcooney Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 (edited) Renaming a layout won't help you revert it...what you need is to duplicate a layout, saving the orig version. You can always clear the copy and select all/copy/paste the elements from the orig layout. Be careful which layout your scripts point to. Edited March 1, 2009 by Guest
