Conditional portal display

Featured Replies

Hi, can anyone help me with a puzzling problem.

I have a layout displaying a portal. In the portal I have a field for dates.

There are clusters of entries for a given date then clusters of other date.

What i would like to do is display a separator line between different dates.

I have tried creating a self join using a get(portalrow) calc field and get(portalrow)-1. This does not work presumably because get(portalrow) only returns the active field.

Can anyone think of a way.

Perhaps you could use something like:

I do and Comment, you've answered another niggling problem I've been having with creating backdrop addressbooks! :D [yet again you somehow read my mind!!]

eyeguy, it's all to do with how you lay out the portal.

In layout mode you set the portal up like this:

top - the fields in the portal

middle - cDisplayCategory

bottom - portal

Onscreen, in layout mode it looks a bit messy, but in browse mode, it works!

I'll upload an image to explain later.
