downbylaw Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Hi guys, i'm making a standard order/invoice solution and I've had some problems: I made a layout to print the order but in my order I use to different portals: one for 'rent' and one for 'services'. How can I make the print not to display the portal rows that are empty? Thanks guys.
Mif Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Assuming you need to keep the portal row count the same, one thought would be to remove the fill and lines from the portal and create borders around and fills in the fields in the portal to create the illusion of a dynamically expanding portal. :(
Lee Smith Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) Portals are not meant to be printed, they are for viewing the data. Read about the "Set Sliding |Print" Feature available in Layout Mode under Formatting. Lee Edited June 4, 2009 by Guest forgot the Slide Feature
downbylaw Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 (edited) What I actually want is is to print the order. In the order layout I used to different portals and I want these to get printed. But for example if one of the portals has no content I don't want it to print. I already tried sliding but that didn't work for me. Between 'the portals' on the print layout is also some text. How can I make the text appear right behind where the portals are cut off (format sliding/printing) RENTING mixer 10€ mic 20€ cable 20€ SERVICE (empty) total 50€ hope this helps... Is it the 12th law of thermodynamics or something? Man wasn't meant to fly either. Like just about everything we do with Filemaker, it is important to know the limitations and preferred techniques. Generally printing from an item-based layout is preferred.
