June 5, 200916 yr Hello everyone ! I have a small doubt with the FileMaker tools alignments. The tools are adjustable when i am in detail and list view, but table view are not support to this. I need to know this problem will going to solve or not ! Can any one know about the solution please reply me. Thanks for you time to reply.
June 5, 200916 yr The alignment tools are only available in Layout mode. I don't know what you're referring to in Detail and List, but I'm assuming you're still talking about Layout mode. Table view does it's own thing, and ignores all formatting/alignment done in Layout mode.
June 5, 200916 yr Author I know that point what you are mention in first line I am referring FileMaker Views ( Detail View, List view and Table View -It's available only in browse mode) We have have a option to include a header and footer in table view. My requirement is ? By using the object info i have done some alignments changes in detail layout and list layout screen. It working well in browse mode. The same changes is not applicable in table view layout screen. If you not clear with this reply, I will send a test a file to you.. Thanks for you support
June 5, 200916 yr Perhaps a screen shot. Table view is a spreadsheet view (there is nothing to align...), except in the Header and Footer.
June 6, 200916 yr Author Pls find the test zip file and download it. The file contain three views like detail, list and table view. detail view and list view header and footer rectangle will autoresizeable but the table view rectangle is not support for resizeable. Can anyone pls give me the solution if possible ! test.zip
June 6, 200916 yr Now I see what you mean. If you use Adjust Window Resize to Fit, in Detail and List, the window will determine the width of the rectangle and use that as its maximum width. To achieve what I think you want, don't use a rectangle in the header and footer. Instead, select the header part label, and apply a fill to the header (and do the same for the footer). Then, in Layouts>Layout Setup (Views tab), Table View Properties>select Include Header and Footer parts. test2.fp7.zip
June 6, 200916 yr Table view does it's own thing, and ignores all formatting/alignment done in Layout mode. I'm sure you understand and it's just a possible misinterpretation of your words, but to clarify, formatting and alignment DOES work on FIELDS in table mode. :wink2:
June 6, 200916 yr Author Thanks for your reply. It's good idea when we are using a color. Actually I am using a image with this header and footer, So there is no way to apply a backcolor. I am using a image, Now what can i do ? Is any possible to resize the image with table view. Kindly let me know if possible with any other solution.
June 6, 200916 yr Well, I wouldn't want an image to resize. It would distort. And, I'd put the image in a global container field, so that I could easily change the image and have the change affect all layouts that use the global container. The image would be stored in a field (Pref) and then my open script would set the global container to the pref field. (There are other methods to set a global on startup).
June 6, 200916 yr Author fine , But the global fields also not re-sizeable with the table view.. So How can i achive ?
June 6, 200916 yr Author Thanks bcooney, LaRetta. If you know any solution in future, pls inform me. Thanks for both of your time
