sicSRT8 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 How do you get your file to load like an actual application. I have my control bar set and the file complete. I want it to open up like an actual application how is this done?
grumbachr Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 You would need to use the script step "Show/Hide Status Area" when opening the file . You can also lock the status area but if you do that your navigation inside the application has to be pretty good. Or if you talking about not needing FileMaker to open it at all you'll need to use FileMaker Pro Advanced and create a runtime solution.
sicSRT8 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 i have FM10Adv but what if i create the run time solution is it accessible by the staff who just have FM10 and not FM10adv? Just curious where should I go to learn about setting up run time solutions?
bcooney Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 How about Chapter 2 FMA Dev Guide . Also, don't forget to review Appendix A.
fRESH_OiL Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I'm just asking because if you want a runtime that is one thing, if you just want a simple icon someone can click on w/o having to go to File>Open>Remote> then look at this topic and check out my solution on the bottom. http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/209371/post/332916/#332916
sicSRT8 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Fresh: I am trying to create an application out of a DB I already have in place with everything built the way I want it (Thanks to FMForums) I want it to be used as an application the staff can open up and it opens like any other FM application. Bcooney: Thank you.... Edited June 10, 2009 by Guest
