bcooney Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I believe you are best served by upgrading to FM10. See this link , especially Rick's video.
mr_vodka Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 You will need at MySQL 5.0 Community Edition in FM9.
Genx Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Lol, completely irrelevant to this post, but does anyone else find the following somewhat funny: Now you can combine the all-in-one ease of FileMaker database solutions with the open source strengths of MySQL. By exchanging data between FileMaker and MySQL, you combine the open source strengths of MySQL with the ease-of-development of FileMaker. I.e. the very vague description given to benefits of SQL... multiple times. It's like they're avoiding calling it a database lol.
Jonathan Monroe Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 There are several tutorials out there for connecting FM to MySQL, such as: http://www.metaclarity.com/blog/2008/04/11/use-filemaker-pro-9-to-connect-to-a-sql-mysql-data-source/ and http://examples.oreilly.com/filemaker9tmm/screencasts/ess/screencast.html Jonathan Monroe Actual Technologies - ODBC for Mac OS X http://www.actualtechnologies.com
