I have 2 text fields (first Name)(second Name)

i am using the <> and <> script to show that persons name in another area of the layout.

i would like to see names and have it appear with 1 single space in-between them both. How do i accomplish this?

for example:

(my current format)

Jerrad_________________Mills (the '_' represents space)

(what i would like to see)

Jerrad Mills

Thanks again,

Jerrad

If you can ensure that the user entry fields do not allow for a Return character by making the return key advance to the next field.

This is the calculation i use. Using trim around the fields ensures you don't end up with extra spaces. the substitute swaps the paragraph and substitutes a space. If one of the fields is empty then it will only result with the values that were provided

Substitute ( List ( Trim ( FirstName ) ; Trim ( LastName ) ) ; "¶"; " " )

OR

Let [(

fn = Trim ( FirstName ) ;

ln = Trim ( LastName ) ;

mn = If ( MiddleName) ; Left ( Trim ( MiddleName ) ; 1) & "." )

];

Substitute ( fn ; mn ; ln ; "¶"; " " )

)
