domino refresh, slow form

Featured Replies

Attached is a layout I am trying to build that will track multiple items through the development process. The problem is that it runs slow. When the screen "refreshes" the fields rebuild across the screen like dominos falling. There must be a better way to do this, and I am hoping this is the place to get that answer.

thanks,

Unstored calculations can be slow. Try duplicating the layout; remove half the fields; did it help? Rinse and repeat until you pin down the culprit(s).

Also check layout stack order of the fields. You may also want to play with your graphic acceleration setting to see if that helps any.

Thanks for all of your help. I did dig in and there were no unstored calcs, and the sorts were at a minimum. The answer I ended up with is to use a text box with and "X" or empty entered with the use of a script trigger. It performs like a check box, but with more features. I have it check the status of the box, either empty or with an "X", and then perform the opposite. In addition it populates some other related fields within this script and asks for verification before clearing the field. It is working pretty well, and with no more "domino loads". The problem seems to have been the number Check Boxes. In an open window, it was possible to have well over a hundred boxes on the page.

thanks again
