Not being one to read manuals, just stumbled across this one in FM10. Double clicking on the tool icon in layout mode locks the tool, great for quick format changing, always hated having to go to prefs for this option.

It's an old function that probably dates back before v3 when I first discovered it. It is also documented in the User Guide, and in the Online Help, search for [color:blue]Working with the layout tools

...I had accidently locked the text tool on and couldn't figure how to unlock it! ..

I'll bet that that is how most of us discovered it. :giggle:

have you also discovered that the enter key toggles between the last used tool and the arrow?
