Cant find email addresses with @ symbol, no records found.

Featured Replies

Whenever I try to search for an email address and put in the full email address with the @ symbol it comes up with no records found. when i do a search in the same email field of everything before the @ symbol it finds the record. Why cant i search for full email addresses in this field? how do i fix it . please help thanks so much.

Because the @ symbol is a Find Operator that looks for 1 character in the field.

Try @ instead.

The @ symbol is special character. Escape it out with a .

well i want to be able to copy and paste an email address and be able to find it that way. it defeats the purpose if i have to type in the entire address each time i want to search for an email address. isnt there some way to format the field so it knows im searching for an email address?

the did not work

While in Find Mode, type 2 times the = symbol ( == ) and then paste your email.

Oh, but it does work,

To find records with the @ in the text, you have to use both the and @ as part of the find.

So, search for @ as your find in the field where the emails address should be.

If you are saying that you did search for @ and didn't work, then I'm not understanding your need.

It might be helpful for you to post a copy of your file.

I had this issue at one point, and my solution was to use Quote($emailaddress) when setting my search field in my script.
