how many fields can be in one layout

Featured Replies

I have 120 container fields with 120repeats and filemaker will not allow me to put them all in a layout. They are really tiny and they all fit but it will not allow me to put them all there. What is the limit of fields in a layout. It crashes filemaker everytime I try to add all my fields. This is terrible for my database. I can't find the information anywhere.

Sounds like a design problem. What are you trying to do - what is the purpose of all these fields and repeats?

the repeats are small containers and when the user clicks on them they change color. They are very very small. It works well until it stopped letting me add the fields. it looks like whatever I do there is a certain limit and it just shuts down. That is why I am asking what the field limit is.

You've explained what the containers are, but not their purpose. Why do you need 120 containers each with 120 repeating values that change color?

I use them as tiny markers over a larger container field and it works quite well. I am just wondering why it can on paste in so many fields in layout mode.

Well, still a mystery to me what these containers do. How about a screen shot?
