Easy way to Track changes to 2 Fields?

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a not so complex way to track the history of 2 fields. The fields are 'Status' and a 'StatusDate'. Using a script trigger (on object modify) changing the Status field changes the StatusDate.

I'd like to hear suggestions on how I might easily capture a history of changes to these fields. If you can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

It sounds like you want a logging system. You might want to check out the 'superlog' by Nightwing or 'RF_Audit' at BrianDunning.com.

you can create a new autoenter text field in the same table and use something like this in the calculation

Let(

_trigger = FieldToMoniter ;

Self & ¶ & FieldToMoniter & " - " & Get ( CurrentTimeStamp)

)

you should see something like this in the field after 4 modification to the field "FieldToMoniter" :

StatusOK - 10/10/09 14:50:03

StatusBad - 10/10/09 15:30:05

StatusOK - 10/10/09 16:40:43

StatusBad - 10/10/09 17:10:13
