Is there any way to edit an image in a container from within FMP?

Posted

I would like to write on an image using a mouse or a tablet.

No, I think it just does basic image processing (could be wrong, wasn't trying for that). An application which is built to do writing is:

http://flyingmeat.com/flysketch/

I believe it can be tied into FileMaker via AppleScript. I know I messed about with this quite a while ago, and got something working. But I can't seem to find it now.

P.S. Just downloaded it (new computer). It seems that FlySketch is not AppleScriptable. But it has "scripts". The examples it has are shell scripts, but could be Automator workflows (they seem to say). You can add your own.

All and all it kind of makes sense. You could run an AppleScript action from FileMaker to open FlySketch (via the Finder). Then do your sketching. Then run a workflow script from FlySketch's menu bar (little one, on the app windoid). The workflow could run an AppleScript to tell FileMaker to set a container field in the current record to the sketch (somehow). I imagine there is some documentation/discussion somewhere. But the examples are mostly for opening the sketch in a graphics app. Which FileMaker could not do. Basically, it can likely do it, but the documentation to do so is thin.
