Viewing Portal Data on a different Layout (like invoice)

Hi there. I am stumped on this. I made my portal where I can select any number of different products offered and then enter the quantities to purchase. I want to then view this in another layout showing the invoice and all of the items purchased in the current record. I cannot figure out how to display this information. I have created a "Line Items" table with the relationship to my invoice.

Does the attached help? - it is a file from a different post with an extra invoice layout and script added

Thanks for the reply, but this isn't what I was looking for. I managed to figure on my own to add items on the portal and display that information on an invoice through a separate table (line items I called it).

It works fine. BUT. I discovered a new problem. See we have 65,000 different parts and of that only about 50 of them are issued a serial number which is unique to that item. I can get it to display correctly provided the part number IS NOT the same as another in the portal.

Is there a way around this?

Issue your own serial number, and use it (and only it) for the relationship between LineItems and Products.

well, that didn't work. Looking further I notice that this set up is no longer working. If I enter anything past the 1st line and then print only the 1st line of the portal is shown on the next layout.

Here is the script I am using:

Go to Related Record [ From table: “Line Items”; Using layout: “Print Out” (Line Items) ]

[ Show only related records ]

Sort Records [ Specified Sort Order: Line Items::ID Number; ascending

Line Items::Part ID; ascending ]

[ Restore; No dialog ]

Print [ Records being browsed; All Pages; Orientation: Portrait; Paper size: 8.5" x 11" ]

[ Restore ]

Enter Browse Mode

Go to Layout [ “RA Form” (New RA Log) ]

**edit**

I wrote this in haste as I was on a way to a meeting therefore I would like to clarify.

OK, Last week I was able to figure out and properly display all of the line items I entered through the portal on my invoice layout. When I selected print it went to a new layout and all of those line items showed up on separate lines via the Line Item layout. I discovered today that it doesn't work anymore. I didn't change a thing. It simply shows the first line of the portal in preview mode whilst showing that I have "found" records as separate records on the left in the status window (on left)

Need help to help resolve this.
