Featured Replies

Not explaining myself well a previous post

I created a simple valuelist on FILE layout

How would when clicking on my pulldown

I only get listed or those only approaiate records in valuelist?

When you click on my get button I am getting all seven records

Hi Rod, open your value list and go into Specify Field. At the bottom, change radio button from 'all values' to 'only related values' starting from FILE 1. This 'restricting to related table' is known as a conditional value list. You almost had it!! :laugh2:

I suppose it does seem strange. But all five value list pop-ups display until something is specified in them. I can't think of how FM could otherwise label them because four out of five of them might NEVER require a selection. I suppose the 'Use values from first field' pop-up might be changed to because that is the only one required.

But yes, there are many peculiarities with FileMaker. :wink2:
