Wim Decorte Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) fmDotNet 0.9.5 has been tested with FileMaker Server and Server Advanced 11. Remember that you do not need Server Advanced to use fmDotNet as the XML interface is available in regular FileMaker Server. fmDotNet web page Edited May 2, 2010 by Guest
ralph.nusser Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 How can FmDotNet be used if CWP (XML/XSLT publishing) will be discontinued, eventually?
Wim Decorte Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 XSLT as a CWP medium is being discontinued, but not XML. XML is an overall data exchange standard and can be used for much more than CWP. Just like ODBC can be used for CWP but also for regular application integration.
Wim Decorte Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 One of the main reasons why fmDotNet uses the XML interface is that the XML interface allows for scripts to be triggered on the server. That's something that the xDBC interface can not do. (and the XML interface doesn't require xDBC drivers to be installed)
