My users will be editing a record that contains a field for First Name Last Name of a contact from a separate Contacts table. Naturally, on the report that the users are editing this field is a calculated result of two separate fields that contain first and last name of that contact. The user has the opportunity to change the name of the contact (in the case of a misspelling) and I need to find a way to update the contact record with the updated name. Is this possible? or would it just be easier to add the two separate fields?

Why aren't they just the same field; displayed on different layouts?
