July 13, 201015 yr On the Window's side. All of a sudden. I can't see the entered text in a field until you leave the field. Also, this is some kind of window issue. I have a script that open another window. When you choose something on that new window, the new window closes. All of a sudden the first window loses it's graphics and other highlights. It does this until something makes the layout refresh and going to another layout and coming back to it. This is Filemaker 11 advance on XP. This just started the other day. The file works fine on OSX. Nothing's changed on the Windows side.
July 14, 201015 yr As an aside, SP3 SP2 in Windows Professional works well with vs. 11 *. It has been documented to work well with vs. 10 as well. By all means upgrade if possible but if you work for large corporation which can't upgrade, we have been testing vs. 11 for quite some time (before its official release sometime in March I believe) and have found no 'SP2' specific issues. UPDATE: * I mean there are no more bugs with SP2 and vs. 11 than any other service pack on Windows. Edited July 14, 201015 yr by Guest
July 14, 201015 yr We don't have enough information. I tried to read your prior posts to get a feeling for your setup ... what is your server situation and what version of Java are you running?
July 14, 201015 yr Author I attached before and after pictures. You can see in my toolbar there is a "quicklist" button that opens a small window on top of the existing. When a contact is choosen, the quicklist window closes. The "after" screenshot is what happens to the existing window. It's not until you navigate away and come back then the layout goes back to normal. I can't explain this. I am on a corp computer running Windows XP Pro. This just started happening a few days ago. The file works fine on my mac at home. There is also an issue where you can't see text entered into a field until the record is committed. IT dept says nothing has changed with the computer OS.
July 14, 201015 yr This might sound weird, but the default browser might be another, or a newly installed plugin in the browser - as you might be aware is the use of explorer not limited to webbrowsing, it takes part in the entire rendering process in the OS as well. --sd
July 14, 201015 yr But I just checked the icons in the lower part of your uploaded images, and they seems both to be Chrom'ish?? --sd
July 14, 201015 yr Author Well, problem solved. Thank you for your help. Your browser suggestion gave me the idea. Three words, Quicktime for Windows. After deleting Chrome and other browsers which had no effect. I then remembered I downloaded quicktime plugin a few days ago. Deleted quicktime and works fine now - thanks again!
