My goal is to have the field color (company) fill in a different color based on the value.

I have a customer database

I have a job database and

I have a calendar view database of the jobs using portals. When the job appears in the calendar view, I want each customer to have it's own fill color so that you can identify the company by color as well as name. Although each portal is it's own relation based on day of week.

I have the basic idea of a transparent field and using a global container, but the portal is throwing me.

Thank you

Why is no one helping me? Am I not clear in what I need or is it just too difficult, or not possible?

Thanks

There are 3 files. One contains the company names. 2 contains the actual jobs that are scheduled and the company field is a drop down using values from file 1. 3 shows a week calendar layout, so seven portals showing the jobs from file 2.

in file 3, where the jobs show in the portal, I would like the company name to be color coded so when you look at the 7 days you are seeing all the jobs by color as well as by name.

Is that clear?

Thanks for your help

I downloaded your file the day you posted it, and was confused by the way you refer to your files.

Please do use generic terms when you are describing things. i.e. use your real field names, layouts, and file names.

The following files were included in your upload of [color:blue]1280874923-Calendar

Customer List Copy.fp7

RSI Calendar Copy.fp7

RSI Calendar View Copy.fp7

Your files asks for a Employee List.fp7, Date List.fp7 Time List file when I open them, and or move around in them?

I do not see a field titled Jobs, in the files presented.

It would be helpful if you describe where I'm to look for which fields, and layout, and file.

[color:blue]Update:)

Removing the "Copy" from the file names helped some, but still need the other information.

I'm sorry Lee that its so confusing and I do appreciate your help. This part has me stumped and it's the last piece of the puzzle.

If you open the file 'Calendar View' it should show 7 portal views pulling data from 'Calendar' these are the jobs listed by the date of the appointment by company and location. I want the company field to have a specified background color based on what company is showing.

Does that help? Those other files aren't necessary for this part of it.

Thanks Lee.
