October 14, 201015 yr I have so many different layouts that I can't see them all in the list when I click on the layout dropdown on the toolbar. I'm using windows. On my mac I think there is an arrow that allows me to scroll through them all the way to the bottom. Is there a preference setting or something I need to set in order to be able to see all of them?
October 14, 201015 yr Why don't you use the Layout Manager, read about [color:blue] Managing layouts in your Online Help. Lee
October 14, 201015 yr Author That works great. The only problem is that you have to choose the layout and then click "open" which then opens a new window with that layout. I noticed there is also a way to get there by going to "View" and then "Go to layout".
October 14, 201015 yr It does not open a new window, it opens the selected layout in the current window? Hold on.. Are you using the layout manager to go to the layouts? Open your help and lookup [color:blue]Managing layouts and it will explain better than I on how you can use this to organize your scripts. Lee Edited October 14, 201015 yr by Guest
October 14, 201015 yr I have so many different layouts that I can't see them all in the list... Hide those layouts that the users don;t need continuous access to (such as print layouts and reports) and script their access.
October 14, 201015 yr Also, you have vs. 11 so you can create folders and group your layouts logically. Then when you select a folder, a sub-menu will open for easy selection. But keep in mind that, if you have a LOT of layouts, you might hit the wall. By that I mean, if you have over 256 layouts (on Mac) and over 300 layouts (on Windows) then selecting your layout won't jump you to it properly ... you will need script. It is a bug. Don't hold me to the number of layouts - it seems to vary a bit but during major migration and cleanup we recently hit the wall with 304 layouts. We had to delete several 'prior version' layouts out of the UI so it would work again. Update: Numbers in bold are rough estimates. YMMV. This is bug acknowledged by FMI.
