I created a database that I want to limit access to the fields after a search is completed. In other words I want to allow people to input data in the database but after all the data is input when someone does a find for specific record or records, I don't want them to be able edit the data that is found. Is it possible to lock a Layout/view?

You can set all of the fields on the layout to not allow entry. This may make performing the find difficult: have a "find" layout, then switch to a "browse" layout that s locked.

BTW FileMaker Pro 2.1 is *not* Y2K compliant. Stop developing for it and move on to a leter version.
