comment Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I am sorely missing a feature of the previous software, where I could view "new content" as individual posts (not threads) - and each post had a 2 to 3 lines of preview, showing the post's content. This view was also immensely useful for viewing search results. 1
Ocean West Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 I totally feel the pain too that has been my biggest hesitation to convert the site - I am very hopeful that either the next version will include such a feature - as I have most definitely made my request known. with copious amounts of coffee - I may be able to dig thru the code and make the changes myself. - but I can't promise much at present. I am also hoping to restore the feature to find posts with no replies. In the interim http://www.fmforums.com/recent how will this do? If you use the "advance search" the gear next to the search box - and choose Display results As posts - then you can see all the posts with that search term.
comment Posted December 9, 2010 Author Posted December 9, 2010 In the interim http://www.fmforums.com/recent how will this do? It's "interesting"... If there were an indication of who the poster was and whether it's a thread I posted in, it would be almost there.
Ocean West Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 a step in the right direction : Also if you can see posts you are watching ... http://fmforums.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=forums&area=topicsubs and any posts that you reply to can be followed if set in your Notification settings. http://fmforums.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=notifications
comment Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 While playing with the various options I have discovered a peculiar bug: If you view individual posts (e.g. as a result of search) and you come upon a post with an attachment, the message text of that post is missing.
comment Posted December 10, 2010 Author Posted December 10, 2010 I'll try. I am attaching a dummy attachment to this post. If you do an advanced search for my posts (displayed as posts), you should see this post - but without this text. Here's the screenshot (taken after posting): dummy.zip
bcooney Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks for adding back the ability to scan post contents without going into the thread!
