December 14, 201015 yr Buying new computers with windows 7 Professional installed. Are there any issues with running a 64bit operating system with FileMaker Pro 11? Thoughts? Concerns? Comments? First hand accounts? Thank you Joseph
December 14, 201015 yr No real issues, but seting it up is a bit harder. Make sure you're using the 32-bit JRE and 32-bit ODBC data sources (for ESS). If this is for a production deployment you'd be doing yourself a favor with going with either Windows 2003 server or Windows 2008 server, especially if web publishing is involved.

Sorry let me clarify I am running filemaker server 11 on a server 2003 (32bit) system. I want to run the workstations (filemaker pro 11) either on windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit. Does your answer based on 32 bit JRE and 32 bit ODBC still stand or is it an easier install? Thank you
December 29, 201015 yr FMP does not need the JRE so the install is dead simple. But there is no benefit whatsoever to running FMP on a 64-bit machine. I know of no incompatibilities though.

I have multiple Win7 clients using both 32/64bit versions. I've come across no issues with FMPro 11 or FMPro 11 ADV on these two versions.
