I am attempting to make a website for the first time using Homepage 2.0.

. I have registered a domain name with a company that will host my site and supports FTP transfers. Anyhow, when I attempt to upload my site using FTP, a window pops up saying that the site has been uploaded. However, there doesn't seem to be a connection being made through the FTP client to the web. Any suggestions?

We had a similar problem with HomePage 2.0. It seems that it was unable to do the initial upload because there was a pre-existing webpage in our assigned directory. It was a default page that said "under construction." We had to delete it using Fetch. After that the website uploaded without problem.
