BobWeaver Posted March 13, 2001 Posted March 13, 2001 One of my clients is running FM3 and FM3 Server (latest updates). We have opener files setup on all the client machines (all Macs) to automatically open all the necessary files from the server. Everything works fine until someone tries to use the opener file when the server is down. At that point, the opener script permanently loses the reference to the hosted file that it needs to open. Even after the server is back up again the opener script remains broken and must be re-edited to choose the file again. Has anyone found a way to make an opener script that won't self-destruct if the hosted file can't be found? Also, does this problem exist with FM5 and FM5 server?
Vaughan Posted March 13, 2001 Posted March 13, 2001 Bob Take a look in the FAQ forum (under Brain Food) I have posted how to make an opener file that traps for this very problem and won't break.
BobWeaver Posted March 14, 2001 Author Posted March 14, 2001 Thanks Vaughan. I remember reading that faq a while ago but apparently stopped reading before I got to that part of it.
