Hello all,

I'm using Filemaker 4.0 on an NT 4 Server running service pack 4. A couple weeks ago they had a problem whereby Filemaker was open, the databases were open and shared, but when they clicked hosts, they saw nothing. I wasn't there, so I told them to close Filemaker, reopen it, and open the databases, and this worked.

Yesterday the same thing happened. I'm wondering if this is some sorta TCP/IP problem or what? What should I do to solve this? Thanks in advance.

Make sure the FMP client is 4.0v3 or 4.1v3.

Thanks Vaughan,

I checked and it's 4.0v1, so I'll go and get the updates and see what happens okay? Thanks again.

Vaughan,

I just checked filemaker's site, and I see updaters for FM 4.0v2 and up, but none for FM 4.0v1. Do you know the link where I can get it? Or the updater filename? So I can check the ftp site? Thanks again.

First update to v2, then update to v3. Two updaters are needed.

That's what I said Vaughan,

I checked and there are no updaters for FM 4.0v1, meaning none that updates from v1 to v2. Do you know the filename for that updater? Or where on the site I can get it? I can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance again.
