I have updated filemaker pro 3.0 to v6 on a few machines and I notice that now sometimes they double click on the icon and the splash screen for filemaker flashes on then off, but filemaker never loads. I either have to wait a while or reboot the machine to try to get it to work. I have seen this once on a machine with v3 installed now. Any ideas?

You didn't say what OS you're using. But if it's Windows, clean out your Temp File and see if that helps.

BTW, I should have added that FMP 3 is no longer supported. Your problem could be that you are trying to run the program on a CPU or an OS that is too new.

Sorry I am experiencing this on windows 95a windows 95b and windows 98se and sometimes windows 2000. I know win98 and 2k aren't supported as well as fp3, but it should work on 95a and b. I'd like to believe it is the temp file problem. Thanks.
