As a publishers agent, I run a database on filemaker 4 to track orders for books on behalf of my customers. Obviously one order can have more than one book entry. I'm trying to create a merge file in word so that I can send confirmation of orders as an email attachment - however, can only get the first line of any order in the word merge document. The database is relational - ie One file for orders and another for order lines.

Any suggestions?

I was going to suggest that you do the confirmation letter in FMP but then I read you wished to email the letter. I would still suggest the letter within FMP but would look into a plug-in that will do the email component. I think that you may find the Word merge solution a difficult one to set up.

You're right - merging into Word gives me a separate word document for each line of each order!

I'll look into the plug in solution - and post any useful ideas that I come up with in case anyone else is interested.
