I created a new layout, but the script step Go to Layout does not go to that layout. Instead, it goes to another layout and enters the Preview mode! The Continue button appears in the Status Toolbar, but does not work. I have to click the Cancel button to get to the Browse mode. I ran Recover, but it did not detect any problems and the problem persists. I even re-booted the computer, but that did nothing.

You need to show us the script. Print it to PDF and post.

The script is simple. I created a troubleshooting script with one step: Go to Layout.

The problem is more extensive than I thought. When I change (in Browse mode) to two particular layouts with the Selection Box on the tool bar, they appear in Preview mode, with the Continue button active (although no script is running). Clicking the continue button does nothing. I have to click Cancel to get to the Browse mode.

The only thing in common with the two layouts is that they were created with the Duplicate Layout command in the Layouts menu.

Check to see there are no script trigger associated with the layout.

Yes, there was a script trigger associated with the layouts! It ran another script to go to a different layout. I don't know how it got there since I did not create any triggers in this file.

Thanks for your help.
