Hi... please help if you can.

I am running a script that has an insert file command so the user can select a flie. I would like to have the system automatically select a path well down the file tree to keep the user from having to tunnel through 5 layers of folders.... I can get it to select a file... but can I get the window to open at a folder level allowing the user to select files or folders within that ...

filemac:/rootfolder/sub_folder1/Sub_folder2/THIS IS WHERE USERS WILL SELECT FILES

I want FM to open up the insert file window already open to "Sub_folder2".

Thanks for any help... I'm stuck.

Thanks for that, but it isn't doing the trick. Can you be more specific as to what the setting in send event should be? It gives me the same dialogue window as insert file, and I don't know what file people are going to select, but I know what folder they are going to be in... again, I need to just navigate to a folder and then leave the rest to the user.

In the Send Event dialog box specify the calculation as the filepath you wrote in the earlier post: "filemac:/rootfolder/sub_folder1/Sub_folder2/"

Pseudo script

Goto field [image container]

Send Event [with the calculated filepath]

Insert Picture [Reference]

Well, you got me confused, at least. For one thing, I don't know how to make the Send Event[] script step to open a folder on a Mac. But even supposing it's possible - how does that help? If you select a file in the opened folder, the most that can happen is that the file will be opened by its native application. I don't see how the reference to the selected file is passed to the Insert Picture[] step.
