"Could not connect to FileMaker Server" Error

Featured Replies

  • Newbies

I just installed FileMaker Server Admin 8.

When I attempt to connect to the FileMaker Server from within Server Admin, I get "Could not connect to FileMaker Server "(localhost) (136.xxx.xx.xxx)".

I currently have "Favorite Servers" selected in the 'View' drop down, and the IP address in the Address column is correct, and I have (localhost) in the 'Hostname' column.

I changed the Hostname to the full hostname for the machine, and tried again, but I got t he same error, the only difference was that the word "(localhost)" in the error was replaced with the true hostname for the machine.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, here? Thanks in advance.
