Any Way to Darken the "X" in the Checkboxes?

I can't seem to find a way to darken the Checkboxes and the "X" in them. In my middle age the "X" seem far to faint.

I would appreciate any help....

The color of the x is determined by pen color. In inspector Appearance tab it is called the line. And you can change the thickness of the line also.

Please allow me to explain. I only added the 'visual similarity' because some people :funnypost: think we look like a bat or Yoda. Personally, I think those people are earphobic. :mickey:
