February 8, 201213 yr I have noticed that sometimes when building relationships filemaker tells you that you need to add another table occurence to the graph. While this seems ok to do and filemaker allows it I just wondered if you do have multiple occurences of the same table that it suggests bad structure/design?
February 8, 201213 yr No. Multiple occurrences of the same table are unavoidable in anything but the simplest solutions. That doesn't meant that having them is an indication of good structure, though.
February 9, 201213 yr There can be only one "route" between any two tables for obvious reasons. Since a given table can serve many purposes and be used in more than one context, table occurrences are necessary to exploit this feature. Think of a TO as an alias (Mac term). RW
