comment Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Is it me or is there a problem with attachments? This is the second time I've been told my attachment is empty: http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/82665-exporting-records-into-xml-using-style-sheet-problem-with-template/page__view__findpost__p__383211 http://fmforums.com/forum/topic/81940-charting-monthly-report/page__view__findpost__p__382744
LaRetta Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Both attachments open just fine for me, Michael.
comment Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 Could this be something to do with Windows 7?
LaRetta Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 I'm sorry, I should have told you my specs ... I'm on Windows XP Professional so if they both were Windows 7 then that might be the case. If someone with Windows 7 tested for you, it would help.
doughemi Posted February 25, 2012 Posted February 25, 2012 Both attachments open ok for me in both IE and Firefox on Windows 7.
comment Posted February 25, 2012 Author Posted February 25, 2012 Thank you both very much for your time. A mystery, then?
LaRetta Posted February 26, 2012 Posted February 26, 2012 Okay, found it. It is an issue with Windows 7 as you suspected, Michael. It has to do with translation from Mac to Windows 7. I found a few articles but I do not have time to research further to find the best articles about it. It seems bottom line is Windows people need to get 7-zip (freeware which doesn't have this problem) or someone said, "Unfortunately, you have to unzip and unencrypt (right click>properties>advanced>untick "encrypt contents to secure data") on the machine you used to download the file." Either way, Windows 7 people will need to resolve it, it seems. Here are a few articles which discuss it: http://sqlblog.com/b...-zip-files.aspx http://social.techne...a8-9097e63f5e11 I would prefer to present a link to an official response to the issue but I don't have the time right now.
comment Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 Thanks for this. The funny(?) thing is that I am using a 3rd party utility to zip the files, in order to make them "Windows compatible"...
