PDF's and Bar Coding

Featured Replies

Two quick questions:

1. I am searching for bar coding functionality that can be used by FM Pro. Is there a place I can search for that, either a plug in or some other way?

2. I would like to be able to create an Adobe PDF report from an FM Pro layout, but I can't figure out how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

One way to generate barcodes is using a postscript or truetype post script font.

Another way is using a serial plugin and a Barcode printer you send a text string out the serial port and the barcode printer interperets it and generates your barcodes.

For barcode input you can use a keyboard wedge with a wand or a scanner. There numerous sources for barcode stuff...

I recommend System ID Wherehouse 1-800-397-9783

As far as PDF you can do it with a PDF printer driver such as Acrobat or try a shareware version I know the Print to PDF driver works great for the Mac. You choose it just as you would a postscript printer in the chooser. And it generates a PDF document to your desktop.

If you need automation I recommend Troi File plug in so you can change filenames if you are generating a plethera of PDF's...
