My portal is based on a join table. I want my portal records to be sorted by the Last_Name field in a related table. Is there some trick to doing this? It seems like it should be do. In my portal setup I tried Custom Order based on a value list... but my records still aren't sorting alphabetically. Any help you can give me would be so greatly appreciated.

Set the portal to the table holding the last name field. Set the sort. Change it back to the original relationship.

Another possibility is to create a calc field in the join table that = the last name field.
