formatting changes

Ian, I was scratching my head the whole time watching this, trying to see the point of it, until the last few seconds where you added the indenting spaces. That was sort of interesting.

What I'd recommend for next time is to show the objective first. Don't "bury the lead," as they say in the newspaper biz.

For example, make ahead of time: one script to show the data plain, and one to show it with styles. Start the video. Demo script one. Demo script two. Now go to the styles table, add the spaces, and demo script two again. Bam! I'm interested. THEN, show how it's done.

And the real story here isn't about virtual lists, IMO, it's that variables retain their text formatting information. That's interesting, I'd not thought about that before. So I learned something, thanks!

Thanks for the Feedback Fitch. But this was a follow-up video to the first one. I see that i probably should do 1 video that encapsulates everything or refer to 1st video in 2nd. Improvements will be made in future vids.

peace..

I watched the demonstration by Bruce Robertson on the pausonerror video - I believe that was in London. Your description made it much clearer to me (guess because the vid quality was better here). The fun part you left out was the option to also set your tab markers to specific values.

What I would be really interested in is how to use lines in print layouts with this technique- I tried to use the idea of a global container field with a painted rectangular in it but a formula field with the result container does not scale in height on the print layout...
