"... you mean these fans?" Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Hi, I was pulling my currency data from a site that had an XML data source and I was able to write a stylesheet, thank you so much for all you help with that everybody :-) But now, the XML source is no longer available. I have this source: http://openexchangerates.org/ But I need some assistance in what exactly do I do to get the currency data into a stylesheet ( Yes/ No ) so filemaker can use. I don't really know what questions to ask and I posted a request on the website for additional assistance as well. I was hoping that maybe someone here on this forum could give me some guidance on how to get data from the above web page so I can use it in my Filemaker solution. Thank you Tom :-) 410.456.0177
comment Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 The source you found seems to be available in JSON format only. Filemaker cannot import it without using a plugin. Why don't you look for an XML alternative, e.g: http://www.ecb.int/stats/eurofxref/eurofxref-daily.xml
No_access Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Actually you can use this technique, I use it for data mining... hope it helps.. testfile.zip
"... you mean these fans?" Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Sorry for the delay, had family issues. The file shows data from the European Central Bank. The base currency is the Euro. I need the base currency to be USD. And I need all the currency codes, or the majority of them. What is JSON Format ?? Thank you. Tom 410.456.0177
