tobbesfilemaker Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 Can anyone please explain to me how this function works? or link a video of anyone explaining? feels like I`ve been readin all over internet but cant seem to get a "good" enough answer. I want the fm go to know where it is using this function.
fmow Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It's simple really it just returns your location x,y (no z from what I gather) and you can specify a timeout to stop it if it's getting nothing, and also an accuracy to a set no. of meters. The last bit is not that clear to me either, in the sense that I understand how it works but I am not sure about what values I need to input, in practise.
jbante Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I wrote a series of blog posts about using the Location functions a few months back. fmow, the second post in the series goes into detail about the "accuracy" setting and returned values. How much accuracy you need varies from one application to the next, but it doesn't do much good to ask for better than 10 meters, and I've found that timeout is usually the bigger constraint — not testing users' patience is important.
