rivet Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 A simple trick to create a basic survey and accommodate the various field types; checkbox, radio button, and dropdown. Enjoy RIVET dynamic field type-fmp12.zip
David Jondreau Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Hey, that's pretty well done! Do you mind if I make a couple suggestions? 1) Change the name of the file to Dynamic Control Styles. Field types has a specific meaning to me and I was confused when I saw what you were doing. 2) You note the limitation of having WingDings installed for the progress bar. How about a repeating global field with conditional formatting? The formatting would pull the repetition and fill appropriately. Thanks for the file, DJ 1
rivet Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 David, good point about the name, and the repeating field would also work. Outside of the slight font concern, I really like keep my tables clean from interface calcs.
jbante Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I endorse both the conditional formatting-based progress bar and keeping data tables clean from interface calculations. Many solutions include one or more globals tables for various support functions, and that would be the better place for the progress bar repeating field than in the table the layout is based on.
