Sorting Portal Records by column headings?

Featured Replies

I haven't been able to find a previous query on this one . . .

I have a portal displaying child data, displaying several Fields -- say there are 5 columns in the portal -- and I have little text objects above the portal labelling these fields.

Is there a way to turn these labels into buttons that would sort the Portal Records according to that field? Obviously, this is a easy to do when you're doing a list view of a single table -- but is there a means of getting into the portal context to sort them? m I'm not seeing it . . .

thanks!

See if this helps:

Ah, thanks. I was anticipating that the technique might involve using a tab control to simulate the appearance of sorting a single portal -- as with some of the posters on that thread, this is more fuss and labor than the sorting is useful, but it's very helpful to know there isn't a simpler technique simply using the single portal.

thanks!

If you are on 12 then you can use something like this....
