arbelbedak
Hello, I currently have FMS hosted on a MAC Mini with a static IP setup. Can someone help me set up the server so that my databases can be accessed remotely by users? Do I need to set up a VPN on each user's computer? We are still on FMS 11 and FMP 11. Thank you! dansmith65
All you should have to do is allow a few port's through your firewall. Check the manual to see what the port numbers are.
arbelbedak
So if I'm able to do that, then I can save the static IP in my favorites (on the open remote window) and be able to access it from outside my network?
IdealData
Correct, use the favourites list. Port 5003 needs to be forwarded.
Newbies Wannlong Posted August 7, 2012 Newbies Share Posted August 7, 2012 Correct, use the favourites list. Port 5003 needs to be forwarded. I have similar problem, I forward port 50003 not 5003
Wim Decorte
So if I'm able to do that, then I can save the static IP in my favorites (on the open remote window) and be able to access it from outside my network? The static IP in your favourites would be the public static IP address of your router/firewall (your outside IP address assigned by your ISP), not the static IP address of your FM server.
