mallikai Posted February 21, 2002 Posted February 21, 2002 I have a windows xp computer. My computer is the host and there are 5 other computers in our office that connect to my computer via tcp/ip. I have dsl service and was wondering if I also have filemaker at home, is it possible for me to access the files on my computer so that I don't have to go thru instant web publishing. If it is possible..how would i go about doing it (how would i map the path from my computer at home to the computer at the office)? thanks
Fitch Posted February 21, 2002 Posted February 21, 2002 You connect over TCP/IP just like your local machines do: select File>>Open, click the Hosts button, click Specify Host... and type in the IP address of the host computer.
Anatoli Posted February 22, 2002 Posted February 22, 2002 Obviously all firewalls have to know about that and must be opened at port 5003.
