IdealData Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Once I have entered Manage Scripts the keyboard shortcut to Manage Layouts (Shift-Command-L) no longer works. If I exit Script Manager the keyboard shortcut is still lost, only restarting FM re-instates the shortcut. I tried this on a virgin file and it's still the same problem, so it's not file corruption. (Apparently not a problem in Windows) Any one experienced the same or know a workaround? Mac OS X 10.6.8 FMP Advanced 12.03 Thanks
fmbug Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Here it is working fine. I have tested both in windows and mac. I suggest you to re-install the FileMaker.
Lee Smith Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Have you tried repairing your permissions? Open Disk Utilities >> Disk Utilities.app and then "repair disk permissions".
IdealData Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 I tested this on my home machine now - and it's still the same problem. Exactly the same setup too: OS X 10.6.8 FMA 12.03 Haven't tested the permissions thing yet, but for it to be the same on 2 different machines
Kent Searight Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Does anything in your menu flash when you do the shortcut when it's not working? If so, look under that menu and see if the shortcut is allocated elsewhere. Maybe another app is using the shortcut? Seems odd that it isn't all or nothing though.
IdealData Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 This is definitely a bug... I did a scratch install of OS X Server 10.6 and updated to 10.6.8. Installed FMPA 12.03. Open a new DB and then selected Manage Script and Manage Layouts using the MENUS and mouse. I can continue to use the menu method and the shortcut is still displayed on the menu items. The first time i actually use Shift-Command-S from the keyboard (Manage Scripts) then FM loses the Shift-Command-L (Manage Layouts). If I try to use Shift-Command-L I get just a get a beep. Bear in mind this was a scratch install of OS X, so there's no other apps involved, no other drivers etc.. Can someone confirm my exact points. (Maybe this works in 10.7+, but I can't test) Where do I report the bug?
Rick Whitelaw Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 "Maybe this works in 10.7+, but I can't test)" I'm running 10.7.5 and FMPA 12v03 and this problem has never cropped up. Not much help, I know!
